A last-minute girls’ trip to Miami was just what I needed to kickstart my summer. Spending a weekend in Miami should be on everyone’s to-do list. It’s the sweet spot between city life and beach vibes and I have a true appreciation for being nestled right in the middle of it all.
There were a few goals for this girls’ weekend which included: drinking a lot, eating well, getting on a boat, and having fun while doing it all. So it was only right to get those checks all across the board.
Dinner at Komodo did not disappoint. Anything Asian is right up my alley, and Komodo serves some of everything Asian. From sushi to dim sum, and fried rice to noodles, Komodo hit all of my favorite Southeast Asian cravings. Every single one of my taste buds were more than satisfied. I enjoyed salmon tacos, dumplings, sushi, crab lo mein, and a decadent dessert. On top of the good eats, the ambience is beautiful. One step inside of the restaurant and you’re transported to a chic Asian jungle right outside the city. Truly a unique dining experience.
When Fendi launched its vertigo capsule collection, I instantly fell in love. The colors and the wavy illusion were the perfect refresh for the spring/summer months. I first learned of the designer, Sarah Coleman, on a segment of the Wendy Williams show. She upcycles home goods and appliances with designer bags into designer home goods and appliances. These are the type of collaborations I like to see between artist and designers.
My visit to Fendi Cafe happened by accident. I believe I was at the right place at the right time (wearing the right look) because fortunately for me, everything flowed very well. The wait wasn’t long, the prices were right, and although the menu was simple (i.e. eggs, french toast, smoked salmon, potatoes, etc), the food was good. My americano, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, and toast were just what I needed to start the day. Have you ever had a simple meal that was just good? That’s what it was.
I love when the opportunity to get on a boat presents itself…and being true to myself, I’m going to take it everytime. Afternoons are well spent on a boat when you have a good playlist, drinks are overflowing, and lunch is fresh from Whole Foods. I think we all can agree that spending a few hours on a boat drinking Prosecco and soaking up the sun makes lunch taste ten times better than usual. Besides, everything is better on a boat in Miami. I guarantee it. That water and sun combination will do it to you every single time…I guarantee that too.
After going back to the hotel and taking a moment to relax and refresh, it was Amara at Paraiso for drinks and appetizers, La Mar by Gastón Acurio for dinner, and Mila for drinks, dessert, and fire show. A day that was more than well spent.
Brunch at Juvia was the perfect way to end a weekend in Miami. There’s no better way to end a girls trip than with bottomless drinks and best daytime view of the city. Those two things were my favorite things about Juvia. The view is amazing and the menu’s bottomless brunch is the best way to taste every brunch cocktail as many times as you would like. The parmesan fries were the perfect side to absorb the alcohol before catching my flight back home. Good times with good food and great views.
