My first time traveling to Caye Caulker Belize was in July 2017. Tropical vacations are my favorite and I was looking for an inexpensive destination to enjoy my birthday. Roundtrip airfare was only $250, and definitely my kind of deal. Although I wasn’t familiar with the small, Caribbean country nestled between Mexico and Guatemala, the moment I stepped off the water taxi and onto the wooden dock, I knew I’d found a slice of heaven on earth.
The best thing about Caye Caulker is its natural beauty. Clear, turquoise waters complement the lush palms and beautiful botanicals making rest and recuperation an easy breeze. Time spent in the midst of this island’s scenery is a true vacation. There are no cares and no cars. Sand-covered dirt roads lead to all the intangible treasures that can be experienced here. The island motto is “GO SLOW” and that sentiment is felt throughout the island.
