GOD BODY: MY FAITH LIVES IN MY BODY

I once heard that yoga is demonic because every pose is worshiping a “yoga god.”

My first thought was as natural as it is simple:
There is only one God.

My next thought was:
I don’t live in fear because I don’t relate to God through fear. I relate to Him through trust because I carry His presence. My body is His, and that’s the lens I choose to live from.

That’s where the phrase God Body came from.

Defining “God Body”

There is a time when our faith stops being something we say and becomes something we embody, we inhabit…something we move in.

God Body is not a practice, a pose, or a posture.
God Body is a revelation.

It’s this deep knowing within the spirit that can’t help but be lived out through your being. Your physical body is the consecrated dwelling place of the living God—fully submitted to Christ and animated by the Holy Spirit to manifest God’s life, peace, power, and glory within you and on the earth.

About the Jersey

God Body begins with oneness. Not someday, but right now

God Body is not about perfection, it’s about possession. My body is occupied. It belongs to God and this jersey is a symbol of that allegiance. There’s no need to assign power to competing “gods” because there are none. Period.

When I crocheted this jersey I was crocheting a declaration: I know who covers me, who calls the plays, who defends me, and who already won. I play from victory because the work is finished, amen.

God Body Means I’m on God’s Team

My body is holy ground because God lives here. Everything my body does brings glory to God because I am God’s child. Whether I eat or drink, or whatever I do, I do it all to the glory of God because I live with the awareness that movement can be worship, breath can be prayer, rest can be obedience, and presence can be ministry. How? By presenting my body as a living sacrifice—holy and well-pleasing to God

God Body is the embodied reality of a believer who is fully yielded to Christ and free from the fear of false power without authority. This is important because fear-based theology tries to control bodies, and in contrast, Christ redeems them. Whom the Son sets free is unquestionably free because “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom,” (2 Corinthians 3:17 AMP) and the Spirit of the Lord lives in me.

75—Marked, Not Random

The number 75 on the jersey comes from my birthday — July 5. These numbers also reflect something I believe deeply: my life is numbered with intention, not by luck nor by chance. God Body understands that our bodies carry history, timing, and purpose with intention.

A birth date isn’t just personal data. It’s a reminder that I arrived on purpose, in a body God already accounted for.

The Meaning of 7: Completion, Rest, Wholeness

In Genesis, the seventh day wasn’t about stopping because the work was hard — it was about stopping because the work was done. Nothing needed fixing, nothing was overlooked, nothing was left out. In the same way, God Body isn’t about striving to become whole. It’s about living from the truth that in Christ, we’re already complete. Nothing is missing, and nothing is left undone because God only rests when the work is complete…and in Christ, it is.

The Meaning of 5: Grace in Action

The number 5 is associated with grace. Grace is not passive. Grace moves, grace responds, and grace acts. Grace is what carries you because you can’t rely on your own unreliable effort. That is God Body—a body that doesn’t rely on its own strength, and a body that doesn’t have to push, prove, or perform because God’s grace is at work, sustaining me as I move through life.

7 + 5 = God Body Alignment

Together, 7 and 5 tell a full story:

  • 7 — I am whole, complete, not striving.
  • 5 — I am sustained by grace as I move

This number is God Body. A body at rest and in motion, a life complete and unfolding, and a person who is grounded while experiencing their becoming

This number represents how I live:

  • A life breathed into by God
  • A body complete, not lacking
  • A journey carried by grace
  • A person protected, not exposed

God Body means I don’t separate my faith from my flesh. My body tells the story too.

YHWH: The God Who Breathes Through Me

In the middle of the chest is YHWH, the sacred name of God. Not as a label, but as a sound.

I remember attending a Wednesday night Bible study held by Pastor John Gray where he spoke about the word YHWH. He talked about how scholars and theologians have long noted that YHWH is unpronounceable in the way other words are. Gray specifically said that this word without consonants mimics the sound of a breath…an inhale…an exhale.

YHWH is breath…the breath of life. God Body remembers this truth. I don’t have to summon God with effort or strain to access Him. I breathe and He is already present. On this jersey, YHWH is a reminder that every inhale is grace, every exhale is trust, and every breath is communion with God literally and figuratively. Every breath speaks His name.

“No Fear” is not Bravado, it’s Theology

The “No Fear” patch is especially important because fear is not of God. How do I know this? Because God has not given us a spirit of fear. Instead, He’s given us a spirit of power, love, and sound judgment…abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind. Fear no longer leads in my life because fear is not wisdom, protection, or spiritual discernment. The Apostle John said it best, “There is no fear in love…but perfect love drives out fear. So the one who is afraid…is not perfected in love.” When you choose not to live from fear, you choose to live in alignment to God’s will, purpose, and love.

Protected: Not Exposed, Not Vulnerable, Never Alone

On the back of the jersey is “Protected” because nothing gets to define me, claim me, or separate me from God’s love. To me, protection isn’t about avoiding life, it’s about being held in it. Protected means I don’t move through life and the world assuming everything is a threat because it is the Lord who guards me from all evil and keeps my life

My identity is unchangeable. What happens to me does not override who I am or Whose I am. I’m never alone, exposed, nor overtaken. I’m not held together by luck. Relationship is protection. It’s the trust that God covers what I can’t see while I keep moving forward.

God Body is Embodied Faith

This jersey represents a deeper truth:

  • I belong to God
  • I breathe His breath
  • I fear no false power
  • I am covered, I am called, and I am kept

Every time I wear this jersey I am reminded that I don’t just believe in God, I live in Him and He lives in Me.

Prayer Reflection: God Body

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for a body that isn’t empty, exposed, or forgotten. Thank You for a body You chose to dwell in. Every breath I take already comes from You. I don’t have to reach for You. I inhale and You are there. I exhale and You remain.

Thank You that my body is not something I need to fear or fight. It is Yours. Occupied. Held. Alive with Your Spirit. I release the idea that I am missing something, behind, or unfinished. I rest in the truth that what You create, You complete. I move knowing Your grace meets me where I am…not where I think I should be. I let go of fear. I trust You instead because I know nothing and no one can ever separate me from You or Your love.

Thank you for covering what I cannot see… Guarding what I do not understand yet… And keeping what You’ve entrusted to me…my body, my breath, my life. I choose to live aware, not anxious. Present. Grounded. Protected. This body is Yours. This breath is Yours. This life is Yours.

Amen.

Love Tynette
