DIY: YSL CROCHET NIKI BOOTS

The moment I saw YSL’s Niki boot in its suede crochet iteration, I just knew I had to have them. With a price tag over $2600, I knew that “having” them meant making them.

I scoured the internet looking for the right brown suede boot. Something that touted a western vibe, preferably with a wooden block heel, and a particular shaft that would allow it to be removed in a certain way so that a shaft could be crocheted. Dolce Vita’s Kelani boot fit the bill perfectly.

Next step was finding the suede cord. It took me a while to source real suede cord in bulk (50+yds/spool), but I was finally able to get it done with likes of LeatherCordUSA.
